New Hampshire's StorySHARE:
Two Families Brought Together during WWII

This story from New Hampshire Public Television was one of thousands submitted to the story collection tool, StorySHARE, in conjunction with Ken Burns's THE WAR. In the story, Gerald Knight recalled a harsh winter in 1943 that sparked a friendship between two families – one Dutch and one American – that has lasted for generations. Read the story.

NCO's mission is to increase public broadcasting's ability to serve local communities. We do that by helping stations engage and educate citizens, expand community relationships and stimulate civic participation across multiple service platforms.
